The humanities-prelaw degree culminates in a senior year capstone project, which results in a substantial written work.

This project involves original research on a topic of your choosing, working with a committee of faculty members who will guide you through the two-semester process. This experience and your final written work are excellent preparation for the rigors of law school—and a perfect highlight for your law school applications. 

Projects have included such topics as:

• The history of women in Florida's legal system
• A case study of the FBI and the Barker-Karpis Gang
• Historic perceptions of U.S./Mexican relations

Humanities prelaw majors can undertake prelaw internships in local law offices through the local Brevard County Bar Association or in governmental agencies like the state attorney’s office.
